Position Summary
IQ Fiber is seeking an experienced, energetic, and detail-oriented HR Generalist with a focus on recruitment and team member experience to own the moments that bring in top talent and shape the experience at IQ Fiber. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, this role leads recruitment support and targeted talent initiatives that attract qualified candidates - particularly for hard-to-fill roles and new market locations - while ensuring new hires feel welcomed and prepared from day one and engagement remains strong across the company.
While the focal areas are recruitment, onboarding, and engagement, every HR Generalist at IQ Fiber is expected to flex across the broader function – regularly supporting HR operations, team member relations, performance management, ad-hoc generalist tasks, and special projects.
*This is an on-site role, working in the office Monday through Friday, at our Jacksonville, FL - Southpoint location. *

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Manager, Human Resources on full-cycle recruitment - partnering with hiring leaders on candidate coordination, scheduling, communication, and a top-notch candidate experience from application through offer acceptance.
- Partner with the Manager, Human Resources to understand recruitment challenges across the organization and lead targeted talent initiatives for hard-to-fill roles and new market locations - including local market research, sourcing strategies, community outreach, and creative pipeline-building to bring talent to where IQ Fiber is growing.
- Own the new hire onboarding experience end-to-end - from offer acceptance through 90-day check-in - making sure every new team member at IQ Fiber feels welcomed, prepared, and set up for success.
- Own IQ Fiber University (new hire orientation) - curriculum, scheduling, delivery, and continuous improvement based on new hire feedback.
- Own offboarding processes - exit interviews, system access transitions, and feedback themes brought back to the HR team.
- Own HRIS workflow administration in Rippling - including performance management cycles, scheduling configurations, and other automated workflows - partnering with teammates and department leaders to translate business needs into system setup.
- Partner with the Senior HR Ops Generalist to ensure HRIS data integrity for all team member lifecycle events - new hires, transfers, role changes, departures - so payroll and benefits run cleanly.
- Serve as a first point of contact for team member relations questions - fielding day-to-day inquiries on policies, benefits, and workplace concerns, and partnering with the Manager, Human Resources to escalate and resolve issues with care and discretion.
- Support HR programs and team member experience initiatives - helping plan and coordinate recognition, culture, and events that bring IQ Fiber's values to life and keep engagement strong across markets.
- Maintain candidate and team member records with accuracy, confidentiality, and audit-readiness.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of company policies, benefits, and procedures to confidently guide candidates and team members.
- Cross-train and support other HR functions across the team to build coverage, share knowledge, and ensure continuity of service.
- Demonstrate and uphold IQ Fiber values; stay current on industry trends, employment law, and HR best practices; jump in to support broader HR projects and team coverage as needed; perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of HR experience, with focus on recruitment, onboarding, or HR coordination.
- Experience or strong interest in talent sourcing, local market research, and creative outreach strategies for hard-to-fill roles.
- Demonstrated experience configuring HRIS workflows (Rippling preferred) - performance cycles, automations, scheduling.
- Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance fundamentals.
- HR certification preferred (PHR, SHRM-CP).
- Strong service orientation and genuine excitement about being the first person new hires meet at IQ Fiber.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and consistency.
- Strong organizational skills - manages multiple candidates, new hires, and program timelines without dropping detail.
- Clear, warm, and professional communicator - equally comfortable with candidates, new hires, and leaders.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented - anticipates needs rather than waiting for them.
- Proficiency with HRIS and ATS systems, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
- Sound judgment and discretion with sensitive and confidential information.

- Operates as a true HR Generalist - fully competent across all areas of the HR function and contributing across a diverse range of HR responsibilities, including team partnering support, HR operations backup, performance management execution, and special projects.
